Skate Tag

Well I saw this sweet tag over on Candy Colwell's blog  using Tim Holtz's new skate die . I don't have this die so browsed through my Cricut Carts. and came across a skate on the Joy of the Season cart. so I decided to give it a try  . I stamped various stamps from a few of my TH collection of stamps with Archival ink (coffee) then sponged with Fired brick & Pine Needles Distress Inks. The skates were cut at 21/2 in. out of Grunge paper and painted with TH picket fence distress paint ( love how the paints go on so smoothly ) . I used Metallic Silver paint dabber for the blades and then embossed with silver embossing powder. I laced the skates with some embroidery floss and then sponge very slightly with a the coffee archival ink . For the snow I used shabby white embossing enamel . Black and white bakers twine and some jingle bells completed by tag . Thank you Candy for inspiration . I'll be adding this tag to my tree .

JRF Challenge #110--Stamping with Bleach Technique

This is a short post since time is running out for the JRF challenge. For this card I stamped and embossed with clear EP on black c/s then used a paint brush to apply the bleach to the butterflies. Really like the color the bleach tech. created . I then stamped and embossed again on Kraft c/s and with my paint brush applied the bleach to the butterfly love the color change on the kraft c/s . I applied Ranger dry glitter to the butterfly for some sparkle . I finished off my card with some lace, memory box Fresh Foliage and a fancy tag .

Stamps used ---JR Botanical  Butterflies.

Just Rite Friday Challenge #110--stamping with bleach

I've been neglecting my blog getting ready for our  Christmas Market this weekend . Today I had a few minutes to spare so thought I'd make a card for the challenge over at Just Rite Stamps which is to stamp with bleach .I've done this technique a long time ago so it's nice to try it again now. Unfortunately most of my stamps are acrylic and I didn't want to risk using bleach on them . After going through I decided to use my  2 of the stamps from one of my first purchases of Just Rite Stamps ---Christmas Joy. I used the snowman to stamp my bleached background randomly and then embossed with TH snowflake EF.The sentiment was stamped and embossed with silver EP and attached to a spellbinders scalloped oval . I cut 2 large snowflakes using white and silver glitter paper with a Memory Box die called Bianca Snowflake . I then attached the sentiment with Pop ups to the snowflakes. I stamped around the perimeter of the card base with pine branches in silver and then added silver trim .

Just Rite Friday Challenge #109 WOW

Well I love white on white cards so this challenge should have been an easy one but I didn't realize how many shades of white there are until I started my card .
I used Bazile shimmer cardstock for my base then textured c/s followed by another different shimmer paper which I ran through my Big Kick using the TH poinsetta embossing folder. .I used spellbinders heirloom ornament die for the ornament which I also embossed with Sizzix EF dotted squares then  added Ranger clear rock dry glitter to the ornament  to give it sparkle. The Poinsetta was made from vellum using TH Poinsetta die and TH Poinsetta embossing folder. Love how the Embossing shows on the vellum .Sentiment is from Just Rite stamp set Christmas Joy . I decorated the inside of my card using the Poinsetta embossing floder and TH new embossing diffuser folder . The Merry Christmas is cut from a new Cherry Lynn Design die which I purchased from The Cutting Garden ( a locate Scrapbooking store). I made the bow with lace from my stash .

World Cardmaking Day

Since today is known as World Cardmaking Day I thought I'd make a card and share with you . I know CropStop Blog has a blog hop going on as well as Scor-pal. I have been wanting to make a cascade  fold card  for some time now so today I gave it a try . Since Halloween is just around the corner I used this as my theme. I found the tutorial for the cascade fold on Splitcoaststampers. Most of the images were cut out with my cricut using cartridges Happy Haunting and Chic & Scary except for the witches face(TH stamp) and the house which is a Tim Holtz  die . I had fun making this and hope one of my grandkids will enjoy it later.

Just Rite Friday Challenge #106 Color Inspiration

Oh dear I have really been neglecting my blog recently just saw that my last post was almost 2 months ago .  My SIL was visiting with us from Aug.15 to Sept. 21 so I was playing the hostess and tour guide while she was here . We did quite a bit of travelling around Nova Scotia taking in Cape Breton, Halifax area and some of the Southern Shore . I really enjoyed having her . Now since my house is bacd in order I have spent a few days playing in my favorite spot. Here's a card I did for the the challenge this week over at Just Rite stamps . I've seen several criss cross cards while browsing various blogs so decided to try one for this challenge.  Paper used was from the Prima collection Fairy Flora , stamp from JR Elegant Frames(one of my favorites) stamped in CTMH Pansy ink and then layered on orange, violet and lavender c/s .   The flower I make freehand from a tutorial I saw on You Tube . I used a velcro dot to hold the criss cross together and then wrapped sheer ribbon around the card and tied with a bow . The ribbon can be slipped off to open the card.

Well here I am just getting in under the wire for the challenge over at Cheery Lynn Design challenge this week  . The challenge is back to nature so here's what I created using a new butterfly stamp that I purchased recently by La Blanche stamps , papers are from Authentique  collection Journey . I stamped the image on pattern paper with Versafine Onyx black  and embossed with clear EP. I cut the oval with the Cheery Lynn Design Polynesian Sails Oval die  and added pearls on the flowers around the perimeter. Other dies used were Cheery Lynn Design branch die, EK success scallop border punch,Spellbinders fancy tags ,Ek  butterfly punch .

Just wanted to share with you a card I made last evening for a few challenges that are posted for this week on several blogs.
I stamped the background with Dusty Concord DI and embossed with clear EP ,then sponged with Antique Linen DI. This was layered on lavender and yellow C/S . The butterfly image is from Just Rite Botanical Butterflies and was colored with Gamsol and coloring pencils. The edge was sponged with Dusty Concord DI. I used the Viva pearl pen to add pearls around the perimeter. The flower I made by cutting a spiral circle and then rolling it around a skewer. The bow was made with my bow maker.
