Christmas Frame

Well it's been so long since I've posted I hardly know how to. I made this Christmas  Frame a couple of weeks ago but was waiting on the frame so I could post it. 12x12 frames are so hard to find especially this time of year. I got my inspiration from the Kaisercraft blog and a friend who had done a class recently . I didn't have all Kaisercraft papers so I used the Graphic 45 collection Christmas Past which worked well with Kaisercraft Turtle Dove collection. The Pionsettas were made using TH Pionsetta die and Pinecones & branch leaves using TH pinecone die. The tiny flowers(rosettes I made by cutting a spiral circle and then rolling . Pionsetta flowers were sponged with Festive berries DI and then sprayed with Heirloom gold perfect pearls . I added Rock Candy  Distress Stickles to the rosettes. To complete the frame I did some sewing around the edge of the outer layer.

Entering this is a couple challenges

One of the kits was a Dresden Plate pattern --unfortunately they were all sold out but she was kind enough to give me the template to do my own . Here's the layout that I did .

Joan's Garden Challenge #38

I spent some time over the weekend playing in my craft room doing up some card kits that people have ordered and then decided to make a card for some challenges that are out there for this week . Really like doing the recipe challenges and over at Joan's Garden this week there is one that I thought I'd try.

1. Create a favorite winter pastime
2.Use black embossing
3.Use a frame
3.Create something that is dimensional.
Here's what I did for my card.
BG is embossed with Sizzix EF Starry Night .I cut my frame from a cricut cartridge Art Philisopy, stamped and embossed snowflakes around the edge. The image is a set from Inky Antics (Holiday Bazoop)which I stamp in black and colored with copic markers. I stamped a second hat and embossed with black EP added some red stickles for the bad and pop dotted it onto the image . I then added some fabric applique for fur around the lions hat and and suit . Added some glossy accents on the buttons and pipe. Snowflakes were made using TH mini snowflake die and spellbinders die .

12 tags of 2012 --May

Well I've sure been neglecting by blog recently it's been over a month since I've posted anything. It's been busy with crops and classes. I have completed my tag for April but just didn't get around to posting it and now it's May . So last evening I decided to make my tag for this month and get it posted. I applied glue and seal to the tag (since I didn't have the glue stick that Tim used) and took some tissue paper from and old pattern and scrunched it up over the tag . I stamp a flourish in the new Peacock Feathers DI on the sticky back canvas dress form ,added some lace and tag. To make my faux porcelain I used tiny fabric roses which I dipped twice in the melted UTEE.I didn't have a wooden spool so had to cut a plastic one which I covered with some measuring tape sticker to hide the rough edges . To complete the tag I added some sewing embellishments and twill measuring tape on the bottom of the tag . Thanks for looking

Authentique Paper March Challenge

I attended a scrapbooking crop last weekend and saw this wonderful paper by Authentique paper ,also several layouts that were done with the Geniune collection so I purchased many of the sheets . Last evening I was browsing the blog for Authentique Paper and discovered there is a monthly challenge so I decided to do a layout . I used the Geniune Collection (which I just love). I had found a photo of my 1st born when he was 6 months old and thought this would be perfect for this paper. I"m happy with how it came together. Thanks for looking

Frilly and Funkie : your favorite vintage style

Well the Frilly and Funkie challenges have begun and here's my entry for the challenge this week --I chose one of the Stampsmith stamps --girlfriends for my image . Paper: MME Madison Ave.collection, bazzil c/s
Ink: Versa Magic Archival Jumbo Java
Assessories: EK success scallop punches, MS around the page lattice punch,

Tim's 12 tags of 2012 --March

I finally finished my tag for March over the weekend . I had to change a few things since I didn't have all of the products that Tim used so here's my version . First I inked the tag all over with Antique Linen DI then ran it through my machine with the distressed stripes CB embossing folder which I inked with Frayed Burlap DI ,I then went over the raised areas with walnut stain DI ,distress the edges with my distress tool and sponged the edges with walnut stain DI . I like how it turned out . I had some branch trees in my stash that I had cut from corrugated cardboard which I thought would be nice to attach the butterflies to. The butterflies I stamped in Versamark on Grungepaper and attached to Sookwang tape and cut out ( I didn't have any of the wonder tape but this worked fine). The snippets were cut from Tim's Lost & Found paper pad and arranged in a mosaic pattern . Didn't have the cement EP that Tim used so I used lavender Distress EP on one of the butterflies and Green Pearl EP on the other one, then added glossy accents to the snippets . To complete my tag I had one of the metal flowers already painted in my stash which I added along with a ticket tag on one of the memo pins.

SSS&S-Ideology

I had to make a few Masculine Birthday cards this week one for my brother and one for DH whose Birthday fall on the same day . Just wanted to share the one I did for my brother since I don't think he will check my blog LOL. The BG I stamped with various images from TH's Life's Possibilites collection and then I ran it through my Big Kick with the Checkboard EF ,and distessed the edges .The gears were cut using the TH gear die then sponged with DI and embossed with distress EP . I really like how they turned out . The clipping was torn from a paper bag that I got from a local scrapbook store . I stamped the mini jalopy on script paper with walnut DI and embossed with clear EP and added brads to the wheels.I added a ticket and circled the month and day of my brothers Birthday and attached it to one of Tim's hanger clips.

Valentine Tim's style GM#36

This is my first entry for Grungy Monday over at StudioL3 for quite some time. Although I did have good intention each week but just never seemed to get the time to post . This week Linda is asking that we make a valentine Tim's style to celebrate Valentines Day . I decided to make a tag for the challenge . Since Tim is starting his new Tags for 2012 this month with a Valentine I though I'd follow his tech. I stamped my background with snow cap acrylic paint dabber using a variety of stamps ,dried with my heat tool and then sponged with DI worn lipstick and festive berries. I like how this color combo turned out . I then wiped over the tag with a damp towel it's amazing how this shows up the white BG images . My heart was made with the honeycomb paper by Inky Antics which I had won in a blog hop so time ago . Tim shows some cool ideas on his blog on using this honeycomb paper. The cupid was stamped on red c/s embossed with clear EP and fussy cut out . I attached a heart border down the right side using the MS heart border punch.Finished off my tag with some pearls, ribbon and key .

Also entering this in a few other challenges .

Sugar Creek Hollow :Let's save some trees challenge

This week over at SCH there's a great challenge going on Let's Save some Trees . Tracy is asking us to use something on our project from our kitchen --paper towel, coffee filters, etc. I chose to make a flower for my card using paper towel and I just love how they turned out . First I misted a sheet of Paper towel with homemade glimmer mist --victorian lace DI ,perfect pearl powder and water--I then let this dry completely before running it through TH die tattered florals . I noticed that once the towel was dry it created a dot image on the reverse side so I alternated the petals when I put my flower together. Other supplies used

Paper: MME lost and found collection,SU Kraft C/S,Prism c/s
Ink: memento rich cocoa.
Accessories:spellbinders fancy tags, Cheery lynn doily die,Spellbinders edge abilities, lace and ribbon form my stash.

Grungy Monday 31 ; Happy Birthday Tim

Linda over at StudioL3 is challenging everyone this week to make a Birthday card to celebrate Tim's Birthday coming up . Here's my card simple but I like how it came together. All products used were TH's or Rangers except for the happy birthday which is SU. I recently purchased some of the Tim Holtz core kraft c/s which I embossed and sanded ( love this C/S) then misted with my new perfect pearl mist Biscotti --think this is going to be one of my favorites. The tag was sponged with DI antique line, broken china, crushed olive and vintage photo, I then distressed the edges and inked with walnut stain DI. Image was stamped with walnut stain DI.
