Christmas Frame

Well it's been so long since I've posted I hardly know how to. I made this Christmas  Frame a couple of weeks ago but was waiting on the frame so I could post it. 12x12 frames are so hard to find especially this time of year. I got my inspiration from the Kaisercraft blog and a friend who had done a class recently . I didn't have all Kaisercraft papers so I used the Graphic 45 collection Christmas Past which worked well with Kaisercraft Turtle Dove collection. The Pionsettas were made using TH Pionsetta die and Pinecones & branch leaves using TH pinecone die. The tiny flowers(rosettes I made by cutting a spiral circle and then rolling . Pionsetta flowers were sponged with Festive berries DI and then sprayed with Heirloom gold perfect pearls . I added Rock Candy  Distress Stickles to the rosettes. To complete the frame I did some sewing around the edge of the outer layer.

Entering this is a couple challenges

What a great weekend so many laughs with friends that I haven't seen for quite some time .Tracy MacLennon  taught a couple of LO classes her work is amazing . She also sells kits that you can put together yourself . One of the kits was a Dresden Plate pattern --unfortunately they were all sold out but she was kind enough to give me the template to do my own . Here's the layout that I did .

Joan's Garden Challenge #38

I spent some time over the weekend playing in my craft room doing up some card kits that people have ordered and then decided to make a card for some challenges that are out there for this week . Really like doing the recipe challenges and over at Joan's Garden this week there is one that I thought I'd try.

1. Create a favorite winter pastime
2.Use black embossing
3.Use a frame
3.Create something that is dimensional.
Here's what I did for my card.
BG is embossed with Sizzix EF Starry Night .I cut my frame from a cricut cartridge Art Philisopy, stamped and embossed snowflakes around the edge. The image is a set from Inky Antics (Holiday Bazoop)which I stamp in black and colored with copic markers. I stamped a second hat and embossed with black EP added some red stickles for the bad and pop dotted it onto the image . I then added some fabric applique for fur around the lions hat and and suit . Added some glossy accents on the buttons and pipe. Snowflakes were made using TH mini snowflake die and spellbinders die .

12 tags of 2012 --May

Well I've sure been neglecting by blog recently it's been over a month since I've posted anything. It's been busy with crops and classes. I have completed my tag for April but just didn't get around to posting it and now it's May . So last evening I decided to make my tag for this month and get it posted. I applied glue and seal to the tag (since I didn't have the glue stick that Tim used) and took some tissue paper from and old pattern and scrunched it up over the tag . I stamp a flourish in the new Peacock Feathers DI on the sticky back canvas dress form ,added some lace and tag. To make my faux porcelain I used tiny fabric roses which I dipped twice in the melted UTEE.I didn't have a wooden spool so had to cut a plastic one which I covered with some measuring tape sticker to hide the rough edges . To complete the tag I added some sewing embellishments and twill measuring tape on the bottom of the tag . Thanks for looking
I'm entering this in the 12 tags of 2012 http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-may/
