12 days of Christmas tag 5
I thought I was doing tag 6 but when I went check it I see it's tag 5 go back a .I didn't have any reverse word stamps so I used a penny black one that I thought would work and it did . Followed the tech. that Tim used with alcohol inks and acrylic then stamp your image and wipe off . Added a snowflake and some ribbon and I was done . Thanks for looking

Tim Holtz's 12 days of Christmas tag #4
Finally got tag #4 finished ,had to improvise a few things for this tag too . I did do the crackle tech. and I'm happy with how it turned out even though I only had 1 of the DS in blue so I used DI instead and it seemed to work fine.Like how the ghosting turned out for my BG. I didn't have the snowflake edge die so I embossed a piece of acrylic with Tim's snowflake folder cut off a strip and then cut around the snowflakes freehand. For the mitten I first cut out 25 with my cricut and then used the spellbinders mitten die added a piece of music sheet to the back and filled in the numbers with glossy accents . For the mitten cuff I used Frantage shaved ice by Stampendous . Thanks Tim for the tip on how to thread the tulle though the button hole . Now on to tag #5

Tim Holtz's 12 days of Christmas tag #3
Well #3 tag is done . I didn't have any of the cut&dry felt so I did my background with various stamps inked in different DI(frayed burlap, ice spruce, festive berries& evergreen bough)I then misted the tag with perfect pearls mist to give it a touch of shimmer. I did follow 2 of the tech. that Tim showed --the pearls were colored with alcohol inks and I curled the twine around a pencil and then heated with the heat tool . I really like how the twine turned out and will use this tip again for sure. Ribbon seam binding was dyed with vintage photo DS.

Tim Holtz's12 days of Christmas Tag 2
Here's day 2 tag that I completed last evening .I must say they do take some time especially if you don't have all the tools. For this tag Tim used the kraft resist paper since I didn't have any I made my own resist background .First I stamped the sentiment with gold dabber and dried with my heat tool ,then stamped and embossed the holly leaves with forest moss DI and clear EP I then stamped over this with the music script stamp and archival ink .I then used picket fence DS to cover the tag followed by the perfect pearls mist. The edges were distressed and inked with Ice Spruce DI . I like this tech.I used the reindeer die to cut my reindeer out of grunge paper and sticky back canvas . To decorate my tag I added a charm with the letter B for Believe and some garland and tree charm around the reindeer's neck . The ribbon seam binding was dyed with vintage photo DS.
Now on to tag 3 .

Tim Holtz's 12 days of Christmas --Tag #1
Well I'm really, really late in getting started on my tags this year . Was away for a few days last week then had to get ready for a card class that I was offering so I'm just getting around to doing my tags . I will get them finished though LOL. Here's my first . Since I didn't have the pine cone die I decided to try and make them by just cutting out a spiral circle ,curling the edges and wrapping it around a toothpick like Tim does in his video.I like how they turned out but I'm thinking I would like to own the die so will add it to my wish list .Following his tech.by inking the snowflake EF with embossing ink pad and then running it though the big kick ,then embossed with white EP. The JOY was cut out with the cricut cart. (Joys of the Season)and covered with MS glitter. The music banner I cut free hand ,leaves cut from tattered leaves and MS fern .Holly berries from my stash --just had to have some red added. I dyed some seam binding with Ice spruce DI and attached it to the top with a lg. pearl button and charm from my stash.

Joan's Garden Challenge Mini Pizza Box
Joan challenged us this week to make a Mini Pizza Box following Selma's tutorial and Make a band for the box ,use Graphic45 paper if possible and decorate the band . Here's the box I made . I used the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium paper ,and decorated my band with a flower made with Spellbinders Spiral blossom die and layered it on several layers of organza cut with TH tattered florals and singed the edges with my heat tool.I added a pearl to the center of the flower. Other supplies used are Spellbinders foliage,HFC leaves stamped and cut out , MS lace border punch,Bosskut leaf flourish, pearl from my stash.

Sugar Creek Hollow challenge --Vellum
Over at Sugar Creek Hollow this week the challenge is to use Vellum. Here's a card that I did using Vellum for the music sheet. I stamped the Christmas Carol with Archival ink on vellum and dried with heat tool ( have to be careful that the vellum doesn't burn ) I then tore around the edge and inked with DI vintage photo. The image is from the LaBlanche Christmas collection which I stamped with Memento ink on the LaBlanche speciality paper ,BG was sponged with DI's and image colored with the cut and dry nibs and DI. Liquid applique was used to create the snow on the branches.
This was my first time using the LaBlanche special cardstock and I just love how easy it is to blend inks . I certainly will be using it again .

Let it Snow
This is a card I did for the challenge over at Joan's Garden this week . It sure tested my patience, I think I spoiled 4 pieces of glossy c/s before I was happy with one. The challenge was to follow Selma's tech--snowy background ,use trees , a flourish and combination of colors. I used tumbled glass and faded jeans DI to create my BG by sponging on the tumbled glass first then stamped my images with Versamark dried with heat tool then sponged with faded jeans DI. I then went over the whole area with an embossing buddy before embossing the large tree with white embossing powder after I spritzed with a fine mist of water for a snowy effect. This was a great tech but I did have a little trouble with the misting (guess I was a little too heavy at first ). Stamps were from TH's mini holidays2 and SU lovely as a tree. The flourish is TH elegant flourishes which I cut and wrapped around the circle. Added some SU striped ribbon and snowflakes to complete my card. Entering this in

SSS&S....one color
Good morning bloggers it sure is a chilly one here in NS we are expecting a northeaster coming up from the eastern seaboard of the USA. Just hope we'll get mostly rain rather than snow too early for that white stuff yet. I've been doing a little more stamping and did this card for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show this week which is to use one color. Here's my card done in brown tones. The stamp is Penny Black -snow dust which I stamped and embossed on Graphic45 PP.I did faux stitching around the card added a scalloped edge, some punched snowflakes and sentiment. The ribbon trim I purchased at one of my favorite stores 5-$1.00 ones never knows what they will find there.

Halloween Candle
Good morning bloggers just wanted to share another Halloween project that I did recently, also made one for a friend and gave it to her this week over a nice cup of coffee. The jar is a recycled candle jar that I kept knowing that it would come in handy for something . I used my spellbinders edge abilities to create the pattern in the MME DP so that the light shines through. The skeleton and spider I picked up at the $store.Ribbon added from my stash as well as the Halloween sticker. I use a flameless tea lite so that the lid can stay on .
Happy Halloween.

Dream
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. The weather here in Nova Scotia has been so nice it's hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. I haven't made many cards recently but I do want to share with you a plaque that I made using the TH distress stains. I'm in love with them. The wooden plaque I picked up at the dollar store and covered with vintage photo DS--it goes on so smooth and even.I'll be using it on other projects for sure. The flowers were made with my Cricut accent essential cartridge and sponged with DI's and shaped. I stamped TH flourish with black acrylic paint as well as the sentiment. The bird cage was cut out of grunge paper using TH bird cage die and sponged with DI and embossed with distress EP in a few areas to give a rustic look .TH charms were added to the bottom of the cage. This was a fun project to make and I've added it to my craft room wall.
Hope you like it too.

Design a life you love
Just wanted to share a canvas I did for my sister's Birthday recently . I used the Kaisercraft DP from the After Five Collection. Love these papers so I stocked up on them from FargoCat Shops. The flower was made from brown paper bag and misted with my own recipe of Glimmer mist (bronze perfect pearls, vintage photo DI reinker and water).I used one of the Cheery Lynn doily dies for the doily.
TH's dies for the bird cage and flourish as well as the flower. Lace ,buttons, pearls, and metal embellies were all from my stash.

Well another week has almost gone by and we are in week 4 of the Grungy Monday challenges over at StudioL3. This week Linda has challenged us to use Tim's Textured fades and distressing. Grungy Monday #3 color wash, SSSand Show Distressing
Another week has gone by and I'm rushing to get my tag done for the Grungy Monday challenge over at StudioL3. This week Linda wants us to use the new Adirondack Color Wash another fabulous product by the master himself Tim Holtz here's the link to his blog http://timholtz.typepad.com. I sponged various colors of DI's all over the tag ,spritzed with water ,dried with heat tool and then stamped my image which a new Penny Black slapstick stamp that I purchased recently . The flower I made with a daisy punch and misted with homemade glimmer mist (vintage photo, heirloom gold and water).I colored the little flowers on the image with DI Victorian Velvet ,added some liquid pearls to the center and around the circle.I used Stream color wash to dye the gathered ribbon--well it's not actually ribbon it's some ribbon gauze that I found in my stash . It took the color wash perfectly.I also sprayed the butterfly with the color wash and then patted it with paper towel to give it a softer color. I think I'm going to like working with this product LOL. I distressed the edges with paper distresser and inked with walnut stain DI.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Metal
This card I made from bits of stuff I had laying around from other projects so I thought I'd try and make a card to fit the challenge this week over at SSSS.It's all about metal. For the BG I covered a piece of tin foil with alcohol inks and them put it through the CB folder textile after which I sanded a bit so the foil would show through. The bird I make by inking a piece of foil duct tape with AI and then put that through the CB folder bubbles. I also ran the cage through the CB folder bubbles and the sponged with gold acrylic paint dabber. The square medallions I also did with acrylic paint. The flower was made from brown paper using TH tattered florals die and homemade glimmer mist .

CCC#34 Dimensional collage fragments, Simon Says Stamp and Show some Ephemera
Well it's time for another challenge over at StudioL3 can't believe it's soon going to be over . Linda has chosen the challenge this week from page 63 of Tim's book A Compendium of Curiosities --Dimensional collage fragments. I struggled with this one this week cause I didn't have any fragments that were large enough so I happened to come across a clear CD that was in my stash and thought this might work. I followed the technique on page using some page that I cut from a paper bag which had old advertising on it and Tim's Lost and Found Pad.In the center of the Cd I added a wheel and decided to make into a card .
Also entering this in Simon Says Stamp and Show some Ephemera. I think the paper bag that I used shows some Ephemera.

CCC#33 Altered Metal Alcohol Inks, and SSSandShow Stripes
Another week has gone by and the challenges over at StudioL3 are coming closer and closer to an end. Will really miss doing them and hoping that Linda will come up with something else . This week the challenge is Altered Metal alcohol inks taken from page 56 of the Compendium . I chose to make another tag using stamps from Paper Bag Studio and Tim's collection . I inked my tag with DI antique linen, weathered wood and faded jeans adding black soot around the edges. Images were stamped with Archival ink and DI walnut stain. I colored in the wings with DI mustard seed. Sorry that the crown is a little hard to make out but I stamped it with gold dabber paint. The technique is done on the butterfly which I received from my friend Sharon a long time ago and was keeping to use on something special
For details on how I did the butterfly you'll have to go to page 56 of the CC book.
I'm also entering this in Simon Says Stamp and Show some Stripes. There is stripes in the ribbon on the tag. So I think this qualifies.

CCC#31 Rusted Enamel
This week Linda over at StudioL3 has chosen Rusted Enamel for the #31 challenge . Can you believe we have completed 30 already they have been so much fun and "Challenging" of course. Can't give away too much of the details as it's against the rules and would be fair the Tim himself but you can find all about Rusted Enamel on page 41 of the Compendium Curiosities book. I made a tag using weathered wood DI to cover the tag and walnut stain DI for the Rusted Enamel tech. The stamp is one of my older stamps from Stampington & Company --elegant stems The flourish and bird I had left over from other projects added a ticket and memo clip and I was done .

Sugar Creek Hollow -sweet vintage valentine
Well I have my stitches out and my craft room back together so now it's time to start stamping and creating again. I love making Valentines so thought I'd share a couple that I did today . This a tag I did using one of my older stamps from Paper inspirations and cutting out just the heart with the cherubs. The flower I made out of vellum with TH tattered florals die saw a tutorial over at Joan's Gardens so gave it a try . I love how it turned out .I embossed the vellum with CB folder swiss dots then sponged with Aged Mahogany DI and misted with glimmer mist. This made the vellum soft and easy to curl . The sentiment was stamped on PP with Versafine Sepia.
Entering this in a couple of other challenges

Just Rite #047 Love is in the Air
This is a short post since I want to make the deadline for this challenge going on over at Just Rite this week . I don't own a lot of the Just Rite stamps but the few I do have I use a lot especially for Wedding and Anniversary cards. This one I made for a friend that's going to a wedding in Feb. so I thought a little red would be appropriate since it's a month for lovers. Used spellbinders circles ,ovals and heart dies added some bling to complete the card.
Entering this card also in challenge over at Sugar creek Hollow --black & white with a splash of color.
